About This School
The students of the Lincolnville Central School are served by a highly trained staff who embraces the notion that high levels of learning for all students is both the reason the school exists, and the fundamental responsibility of those who work within it. Teachers work together to determine what each student must learn, monitor student learning on a regular basis, provide systematic interventions that ensure students receive additional time and support for learning when needed, and extend and enrich learning opportunities when students have already mastered the intended outcomes.
In 2010 LCS was selected as a National Distinguished School by the National Title I Distinguished Schools Program for innovation in helping students achieve high educational standards, specifically for closing the achievement gap between student groups.
In 2011, Lincolnville Central School had 10 students for every full-time equivalent teacher. The Maine average is 12 students per full-time equivalent teacher.
