After 3 years at Chesapeake Academy, we ventured out to try the local public school. Shortly thereafter, our daughters became different people. One said she hated school and couldn't wait for the weekend, the other had fear in her eyes at homework time - something we had never seen in our daughters before. We stuck with it for a while to see if this was just "adjustment", but instead of adjusting our daughters became resigned to being stuck in a situation they hated. After one semester we went back to CA, and we got our happy, engaged daughters back.
