Calvert Hall College High School Reviews
I have to disagree with the previous review. I am a parent of a junior who is an athlete at Calvert Hall. While he did score higher than some on the entrance exam, he had friends that were great athletes that didn't. One player in particular was not accepted after testing two consecutive years. I do know that Calvert Hall was trying to recruit this player, so he reclassified just to gain entrance; still Calvert Hall did not allow entrance into the program. l know Calvert Hall does offer a program for students who have a learning disability; that maybe what the reviewer is speaking of. However, my son and other athletes that I know personally are challenged in every area of life. I would really check into this claim before you make your decision. If you are looking for a school that will help inspire your son to continue on a path that will allow him to succeed in college and in the future Calvert Hall is an excellent choice. Calvert Hall College has offered all of this for my son and many others thus far.
Our son is a freshman at Calvert Hall and it will be our last year there. It is very disturbing to find out that there are classes that have been developed for the athletes, "flex" classes, that are less rigorous and basically easier than the "normal" classes. If your son does not score well on the Catholic entrance exam and does not have stellar middle school grades, but is an outstanding athlete, have no fear! Calvert Hall College High School will accept him with open arms!
