Laura: As a certified elementary/middle school teacher, I have had the opportunity to work in four Baltimore City Public Schools. I have only witnessed visionary, innovative academic leaders in two of the four, with the student's long term success as their driving mission. One of those schools is Lakeland Elementary Middle School.

Bill: You would think this school is in Mexico not America.First graders are forced to learn Spanish.They cater so much to the Latinos that the American students are lagging behind due to the fact that they don't speak English.I went to a parents meeting this week and the Spanish interpreter spoke so loudly over the English speaker that we could not hear.A number of us walked out.This is ridiculous.This is coasting us tax payers for bilingual teachers and our childrens education is suffering because of this large influx of the children of illegal immigrants.Why is this school putting there needs over our english speaking American students.Just look how the test scores have gotten worse in direct correlation with the rising number of non-english speaking Latinos
