Terri Dukes: I was planning to send my son to a Christian School until I got so much positive feed back from families in my neighborhood about OBES. My husband and I decided to try out the public option and save some money for a year or two. My son had wonderful teachers, but experienced difficulty with his attention span. The teachers, principal (Mrs. Rigiopolous- she's really great too), the guidance councellor and school psychologist all met with me several times to discuss and plan what we could all do to help the situation. My son is now in 4th grade and doing very well (all A's and a B or two). With their help we were able to do what we wanted, which was to NOT medicate our son, but help him cognitively and now he is really thriving. I'm not sure he would have had the attention and knowledgeable staff appointed help in a smaller, private school that he had at OBES. I highly recommend this school.
