Benjamin Tasker is a school that is so concerned with MSAs (which benefits the teachers in making them look good), that they don't try to help the children who may need a little extra help.  If your child does anything wrong, they will not investigate situation, suspension is the only solution.  (But don't keep your child home, they will turn you in).  Suspension still keeps them home missing class work and testing. That is their idea of punishment.  Punishment for the child??? I think not, who wouldn't want to stay home.  I guess this is punishment for the parent who has to stay home also and lose out one money.  Yes, you should control your children, but what help or assistance do you receive??? Nothing.............these teachers and counselors only lie to you about helping your child.  If you want a great school for your child, look hard.
But not here.

Benjamin Tasker Middle School is a school that has some good things in it. Such as 20% of good teacher's, maybe 40% good students that actually want to learn, and that's about the only good things about it. The things that are horrible are the class sizes, the bus sizes, and the teacher's that can't teach their class because as they say are not home trained. So the students there don't get enough help with their work. And yes I do agree that this school is a complete waste. If they don't achieve to make their Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) again I hope that they will close the school down, and then reopen it with some  potential.

The teachers are overwhelmed with disciplining the children. I think that they need more security in the school. I don't feel the children are getting enough academic skills, such as writing and more study and homework.  They are always busy studying forMSA's. What is that all about. How do they compete academically when they are not being challenged academically. Their vocabuarly is outragious.  The language Arts department doesn't offer a list of reading material for the year, so that the students can be above grade level.  This Middle School is a waste.  I'm sorry that we didn't have any good choices in schools.

I hope Prince George Couty gets it together or we're going to loose a whole generation of 6-8 th graders, who will be struggling in high school, just because their middle school fell short of academic training.l
