Dayton Oaks Elementary School Reviews
I think the school has a fantastic principle and support for some students who need extra help. When a child is bored or having behavioral issues everyone is so quick to diagnose ADHD instead of exploring other possibilities first. My two complaints would be:
There doesn't seem to be a mentoring program for first year teachers who may need resources and guidance. For example it took 9 months of the school year to figure out he was capable of doing much more than his teacher thought. Finally after a meeting he was placed in a different more challenging reading group.
The other complaint would be the lack of communication between the school and parents. I have a group of 6 mothers who are all educated, intelligent and all come from different backgrounds. It sometimes takes all of us to figure out what our children need for kindergarten. I dont inderstand why there isn't something sent home at least monthly that highlights important things going on each month? Working parents can't remember everything and we have conversations about what is when and where at least a couple times a week and it is frustrating.
I haven't had a positive experience this year at all and neither has my child. I can only hope next year will be much better.

That's all I think I have to say :-) I don't know if the information helped anyone but just a couple things I discovered this year. Best wishes!!!
