Maranatha Baptist Church Academy Reviews

By a Former Student on

I attended this unaccredited school for 9 years and the church for 14 years (church membership and attendance is mandatory to attend the school).  To this day I believe the Principal of the school has only an 8th grade education, never even pursuing a GED and has is also the head of his unaccredited "college".  When an "educator" has no interest in education himself and cannot meet state mandated requirements of accreditation - it is hard to understand how the institution is permitted to continue to function as a "school".    Families are disciplined for personal matters in front of the church services leaving the children to waddle in the aftermath when they and their schoolmates return to school the following day.  Students are insulted, embarassed and humiliated as a means of teaching.  During my attendance - no teachers were qualified to identify learning disorders and instead students with learning difficulties and behavior difficulties were punished regularly by "paddlings".  This is not a positive environment whatsoever for neither children nor adults and it is certainly not classifiable as a legitimate education.
