Stone Mill Elementary School

Tina Wright: My son started kindergarten this year at SMES.  From day 1, I have been incredibly impressed with the school.  That first day, there were some panic stricken children who screamed as they separated from their parents.  Within moments of each occurrence, a teacher had enveloped the child within such a warm cocoon of safety and reassurance that the child quickly ceased crying and silently joined the rest of the children.  Since then, via both flyers sent home and emails, we have been kept apprised of school events and news, and kept engaged in our child's school experience through communications both from my child's teacher as well as from the principal.  Through my child's child care and preschool years, I have always been an engaged parent.  Being able to email our teacher and receive reliable and thought through responses allows me to continue to do so, even though I rarely see her face to face.  I am thrilled with my experience thus far and have only high hopes for future.
