Evergreen is a wonderful small school with a diversity of cultures represented by both students and staff. Our son attends and we couldn't be more pleased with the results - the way the basics are integrated across the wide world of things to explore keeps him interested and I think really points him at the "why" of school. The small classes and frequent use of field trips and special projects makes for an engaging environment. For a private school in the DC area, Evergreen is also NOT one of the break-the-bank schools.
