What is it?

The Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) are annual tests used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards.

Which Grades and Subjects?

Students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 are assessed in English language arts and math, and in grades 5, 8 and 10 in science.

How is it Scored?

Students score at one of four levels: above proficient/advanced, proficient, needs improvement and warning/failing. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level. Students must pass the grade 10 MCAS in order to graduate from high school.

melissa: my son has been going to mary E stapleton for 2 years now and he loves the school this school as far as i care is the best school ever you can tell the teachers there love there job there always so happy and cheery my son neeeded help he had very bad lead poison and had a hard time pronouncing words and reading the teachers there noticed it right off and helped him out and he has made a big improvement he absolutly enjoys and loves the school and there very caring also he has alot of allergyes and there always thinking of him thank you for being such an awsome school
