Muddy Brook Regional Elementary School Reviews
I've had nothing but positive experiences with the teachers and administration at Muddy Brook. We have been at the school for five years and each year seems to get better. Our son has special needs and teachers have gone above and beyond to ensure his learning needs are being addressed. The principal has been present at all our meetings and makes sure that the plan is put into action. We feel very fortunate to be part of the Muddy Brook community.
I have been pleasantly surprised by the amount of information that I've gotten from Muddy Brook's administrative staff regarding the beginning of the school year. Perhaps the frustrated parent hasn't connected with the Assistant Principal or the Principal to express his/her feelings. I found them to be very communicative when I approached them with questions and concerns. I haven't gotten what I wanted in every respect - e.g., my child's class placement - but they have been very engaged in a dialogue with me. Also, I've received lists of things to bring to class, should I want to contribute, and just got the entire month's school lunch menu emailed to me today.
My experience with this school, which is new to me this year, has been far and away better than at my children's previous public school. One thing that I think any parent should do is call to set up a time to meet with the Principal or Assistant Principal. I don't think that you'll be disappointed if you do that and keep an open mind throughout the process. They really seem to want to know what parents' needs and concerns are. Get involved and you'll be rewarded, and more importantly, so will your children!
I am very frustrated with the lack of communication the school has for new students. I have been told nothing to prepare my child to enter school. They haven't even "decided" on what day NEXT WEEK there will a meet the teacher date for new kids. That is very frustrating to working parents who need to give notice. Also, it is pitiful that other schools have scheduled these dates well in advance, sent home packets for the parents and tours of the school. I hope this isn't an indication of what to expect in the future!!!
