Winthrop Middle School Reviews
most kids are not prepared for high school
Families with the ability send their children elsewhere by the time middle school arrives. The teachers are some of the lowest paid in the state. The budget is unrealistic, take a good look into what has happed the past 5 years and I mean the truth of the matter. Check further into the school and hospital that the town has sold and see where those funds have gone. Let's not forget the huge pay raise for the Supt. of schools. It's been said that his increase was justified (here in Winthrop?). I would love to see how it was documented that he got the pay raise of a new teacher as an increase.
in my opinion i think that the school is terrible. some of the teachers are great but sme have no idea what they are doing at all. i do not think that the retired teahers should be "rehired". the books are in terrible condition and there not updated. there are hardly enough for every student. in the 7th grade there are not enought social studies books and all of the s.s. classes have to learn from packets made from the one book that the teacher has. some of the teachers do not help at all but some of them do i am a student with a learning disiblity and my skills teacher is great.
the school defenitly has to be updated alot and it is just getting worse and i would deffenitly not recomend for any kid to got to that school and i recomend to get them out if they are already in.
