What is it?
The Massachusetts Comprehensive Assessment System (MCAS) are annual tests used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Students in grades 3 through 8 and 10 are assessed in English language arts and math, and in grades 5, 8 and 10 in science.
How is it Scored?
Students score at one of four levels: above proficient/advanced, proficient, needs improvement and warning/failing. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level. Students must pass the grade 10 MCAS in order to graduate from high school.

"I didn't see it" should be this school's motto. They do not protect these kids from bullies, and they only score a 3 in academics? I am ashamed of my choice of school. I have been unimpressed with this school for a very long time, but thought I was being too harsh, I now know for a fact that I am not. I do feel my child would be better in another school.

Abby Kelley Foster provides the best educational oppurtunities for any student within the city of Worcester and its surrounding communities. Not only is the school adopting an IB Diploma Programme, the extra-curricular activites offered by the school has allowed its students to travel across the antion and even to foreign countries including Italy and Greece.
