I've learned a lot with my son.. being the guinea pig. I entered him into kindergarten without taking the readiness test. I truly recommend having your child take before deciding between Y5's (Young 5's) & kindergarten. One of the kindergarten teachers will do the testing & will then meet with you to explain the results. You can then decide what is best for your child. My daughter was recommend for Y5's & she will be starting the program this fall. Y5 students seem to do better. My son struggles a bit, but getting to know his teachers and constant communication helps him a lot. The staff as a whole were pretty good with helping me & me helping them with making my son's school year better. Just like with a good marriage you gotta communicate! Although Keystone is now a focus school I still have faith. I have learned a lot from them. I learned even more as a parent volunteer.
I do see progress with my son & will stay on top of things. You can check your child's status/ progress online "live" & call or email the teacher about any concerns.

The grading system is horrible . They use numbers but not 4=A, 3=B, etc. its something else that makes it difficult for the parents , students and teachers to truly understand how well your child is doing. Also the staff including the principal changes regularly so they really don't get a chance to know the students or the parents . Which makes it difficult for relationships to be developed. Guidelines also change regularly. UGH!... just alot to stomach.

keystone is a good school.  It taghut me a lot .  All the teachers care about all the students.   They care about your grades and your academic.  Also they have alot of sports you can play.  they also do not judge any student they treat us all the same
