About This School
Charter schools are public schools, but differ from traditional public schools in that they are independent and are operated by educators, parents, community leaders, educational entrepreneurs, or others. Funding for charter schools is based on designated local or state educational organizations. Those organizations are responsible for monitoring and assessing the quality and effectiveness of education, but permit the schools to operate outside of the traditional public school education system. See Star International Academy's test results to learn more about school performance.
In 2011, Star International Academy had 17 students for every full-time equivalent teacher. The Michigan average is 18 students per full-time equivalent teacher.

Star International Academy Reviews
Fun but useless.
The school has a wonderful community and lots of fun people, but the academic program is a sad joke. There are no Honors or AP or advanced classes for students until 11th or 12th grade, unless their parents are wealthy an willing to pull some strings. There is only one language offered; Arabic, no extra-curriculars except a couple sports teams, and even those are at a minimum, and the teachers may be wonderful, but plenty of them are sadly inexperienced. I don't recommend this school to anyone who wishes to get it into any highly-rated universities or colleges; only for those who are just wishing to have a fun high school experience.
