Bates Academy Reviews
Well, bates is a great school! I'm a 8th grader about to graduate from it Class of 2011-2012 and as much as I hate going to school with a passion I LEARN A LOT THERE! Most of the students in 8th grade earn 4.0's easily and are more advanced then average schools(seriously what school gives algebra 1 and 2 ,a high school subject, to 8th graders let alone teaches everything a year early? For example 8th graders do high school work. I'll answer that. this one!) The electives are fun I take academic games, orchestra,Math Technology, and creative writing. The school can be disorderly at times (like any other school) but when you get down to it Bates is great school.
PS: Your child (if they get in) are going to hate the amount of homework that's given (I know I did!) ,on a good night I don't get done until 6!
Bates Academy is a GREAT school ! i just graduated from there with a 4.0 and now i attend Cass Technical High School and I am doing great .. Bates prepared me for high school and I'm glad my parents decided to send me there!
BATES ACADEMY IS NOT A GOOD SCHOOL I RECOMMEND YOU SEND YOUR CHILD TO BURTON INTERNATIONAL ACADEMY!!!!!! My child is on the honer roll aqnd i couldnt be any better i love it . was a good choice
bates is a great school but hally magnet middle can give your child a better education and a better social life, I sent my child to hally and now she has full academic scholarships to a number of colleges , my sister sent my nephew to bates and he has been having trouble in high shool
the school is very wild at times but we are very respectful. we are vigoroius working students and we dont back down from anything.Bates academyy is a good school
The goal of an exceptional student program is to maximize the potential for gifted students to exceed expectations. The confinement of young great minds is timeless. Discipline belongs at home.
I have visited the school on several occasions and I do not understand why the children are allowed to be so loud at dismissal with no guidance from any of the staff members. Children at this age should be taught respect and courtesy, and discipline before they reach the teenage. It is very wild for a person who is searching for a school to see. These children in middle school can still be taught before it is to late but I do not see a concern so here we go with another generation of undisciplined young children. We don't have to be there parents to ask them to practice discipline so they will know how to act as they go out into the world .
This school is good and allows us students to be free in someways but not all the time. The electives are fun to have and enjoy.
