I loved this school, my daughter became a student in the kindergarten. My daughter is now 10 she is in the 6th grade, her test scores were always high , she has been on the honor roll from day 1 and the principals list several times, and won many awards. I had the opportunity to go on a field trip with my child's class, I was so disapointed with the lack of discipine and control the teachers had on the students. The children were rude and disrespectful on the bus trip, the teachers were more friends to the students than authority figures, the kids were loud, I heard some curseing from the kids, this was not pleasant. The kids totally disrespected the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. This was the last day of Afirican History month, the curator of the museum asked D.E.A. to leave the facility. The Principal was called to come to the museum. I had never been so embarrassed in my life. The students lack discipline and respect, the teachers are there for guidance and explaining what is expected from their students when they are in class as well on a field trip that is supposed to be fun and a learning experience the teachers are not there to be their friends but to Teach. Now I am torn do I send my daughter back? I recently attended the honor roll breakfast not many honor roll sudents.
