About This School
Charter schools are public schools, but differ from traditional public schools in that they are independent and are operated by educators, parents, community leaders, educational entrepreneurs, or others. Funding for charter schools is based on designated local or state educational organizations. Those organizations are responsible for monitoring and assessing the quality and effectiveness of education, but permit the schools to operate outside of the traditional public school education system. See William C. Abney Academy's test results to learn more about school performance.
In 2011, William C. Abney Academy had 17 students for every full-time equivalent teacher. The Michigan average is 18 students per full-time equivalent teacher.

when my kids came to this school in grade k i loved everything about it but as the years went on i no longer respect 90% of the staff and the children are not getting the best quality education because most of the time the teachers are busy belittling the children instead of correcting the wrong and uplifting them some of the staff are great but the bad out shines the great by a long run its sad that these children have no chance at enjoying there childhood days in grade school because they feel like they are less then worthy of respect and afraid to come to school because of the bullies that torment them daily with no hope of it being corrected by staff members that act as if they just do enough almost just to bandage the situation in order to get to the end of the day when the kids are shipped off on the bus "out of their hair" and no longer their problem
I love this school it is one of the main reasons I have not moved bsck to cali. If I could I would take it with me. I wish that they also had a full jr. high as well as a full high school. All the teachers, and employees that work there are great and they care about the students. They go over and beyond to help thier students and parents.
Thank You WCAA.
