St Michael Lutheran SchoolSt. Michael has been a wonderful experience for our family. We've been there since my older was in Kindergarten. It's great to see the way each child is encouraged and engaged-not something easy to do in today's fast paced society! My kids are reading above grade level and are always challenged. Our only concern is there is a bit of a "lack of technology". The older kids get laptops, but there is not a single "smart board" in the school. I think overall-St Mike's is awesome. Technology or not this school has it right! Kids first all the time! My kids WANT to go to school. They love seeing their friends and teachers everyday. The favorite day is Friday when they get to go to chapel with their chapel families! :)

5Great school with great teachers! Everyone is committed to providing a well rounded education for students. Class sizes are reasonable and each child gets individual attention throughout the day. Principal does a great job monitoring the success of each student and making sure the learning environment is challenging and engaging. Parents have active roles in their child's success which is great. Lots of afterschool programs to keep the kids busy - Cub Scouts, Ski Club, Basketball, music and languages. Really like the Learning History Night and Science Fair projects. The students look forward to these events annually. We are very happy with our child's progress at St. Michael Lutheran.

5We have been blessed to be a part of the St. Michael Lutheran School (SMLS) family ever since our daughter, who is now in 4th grade, entered preschool. From her very first day, we were welcomed into an environment where the teachers and the principal truly care about excelling not only scholastically but spiritually as well. Our daughter is excited about her faith and has been able to share that excitement even though a large number of her classmates don't attend St. Michael. In fact, more than half of the school's students attend either no church or churches of a different denomination. This allows our daughter the chance to watch diversity in action.
Scholastically we could not ask for greater results from the teachers. Our students consistently rank in the upper levels of all standardized testing. And yet, the school also recognizes that not all children learn at the same pace and makes adjustments for that fact. Our daughter is presently reading just shy of a 7th grade reading level. She is paired with others who are at the same pace. Those who are even more advanced or others who are not quite there are matched with students of their individual levels, so that everyone is nurtured accordingly.
In addition to core classes, students have access to an excellent music program that involves choir (ages preschool to 4th grade) and band (ages 5th through 8th grade). There is also a superb art teacher. The teachers enjoy putting together special programs as well, including Living History Night, a Science Fair, all-school spelling bee, etc. A strong Parent Teacher Organization works to put on fun evening activities, which help to solidify the feeling of family. Best of all maintaining the innocence of childhood is encouraged!
St. Michael offers a number of activities outside of the classroom, including soccer, volleyball, basketball and cheerleading teams, drama club, ski club, Girls on the Run and Mad Science Club. Our students do not lack opportunities by choosing to attend to a parochial school.
One of the most beautiful things that can be witnessed each week is when our students attend chapel on Friday mornings. Rather than sit by class, the students sit by "families"--each of which is made up of kids from preschool to 8th grade. To see an 8th grader holding the hand of a kindergartener as they walk into the sanctuary, or a 5th grade boy showing a preschooler how to worship is beyond words.
The mission of St. Michael Lutheran Church is to ensure that all congregational members are "Mighty Messengers" for the Lord. St. Michael Lutheran School is more than meeting that mission, as it transforms young men and women into future leaders of our churches and community.

5Outstanding school! The first grade teacher is excellent. She has over 25 yr of experience and my child has done nothing but grown leaps & bounds in her class. This is a wonderful school with an excellent preschool & daycare program! I would highly reccomend it for kids of all ages!! Several other parents agree with this too!

5My son loves this class and has learned more in the last few months than I'd ever thought he'd learn the whole year in 1st grade. He honestly isn't the top of the class but this outstanding teacher has built up his confidence and he is now aspiring to compete with the kids at the top of the class. I am more impressed everyday with the spelling, memorywork, reading, book reports, math and overall learning that these kids are getting. This 1st grade teacher during conferences gave us as parents excellent and honest areas to focus on with our son and we have seen improvment and results from this in a few short weeks. St. Michael's is such an amazing environment to put your kids into to learn and grow at all levels. I highly reccomend this school & the 1st grade teacher to parents!!! I have checked all the private and public schools in the area and nothing comes close to the quality of education that my son is getting. Not to mention their extra activies such as the musicals, art show, science fair and a truly amazying living history night!! The class has an teachers aid in the class room everyday and these kids are very well behaved.

5St. Michael is an excellent school that fosters high academic standards and instills a love of God in all kids, regardless of religious background. The teachers care deeply about their students and the administrative staff is very responsive to parent concerns. We've had two kids attend St. Michael and it was an excellent decision.

5I have two children who attend St. Michael and have found the school to be a wonderful environment for both of them. My older son has attended St. Michael for six years and has thrived at this school. I am thrilled with the sports, music, art, and other extras offered--impressive for a small, private school. Tuition is reasonable--I have found it to be the most affordable private school in the area. For me, however, the most important thing is that they are learning about their Lord every day from teachers who love Him.

5St. Michael has provided an outstanding learning experience for my two children. It has outstanding academic programs which far exceed what is offered in the surrounding public schools, and offers a warm friendly atmosphere for children and parents. They value parent input, and continuously strive for excellence. I am not sure about the concern with a large 1st grade size..any class over 20 students has a full-time teacher and an aide. My experiences have been outstanding.

2The first grade class is quite large and it seems to be a problem. The teacher is somewhat forced to be harsh to maintain control and it is turning off some students. I've spoken to several parents whose children were unhappy and in turn so were their parents.

2First grade class is too large. Parent volunteers can only do so much. Another teacher is needed!
