Reach Charter Academy
We have been so happy with this school.  We have 2 boys enrolled and they are growing academically by leaps and bounds.  The staff is compassionate, firm and kind.  We have 2 very different children.  One is very easy and one is much more difficult and sensitive.  We have seen both of them treated with the same level of respect and kindness.  The teachers, Ms Breakiron(dean) and Mrs Dowker(principal) worked with us almost daily to come up with ways of engaging our "high intensity" child.  They spent a lot of time and put a lot of thought into this.   We never felt like they were picking on him or getting tired of "dealing" with him.  Both of our children love every teacher and staff member that they've had contact with.  Although they are all very warm and kind like I said, they do have very strict policies.  This is something that we value as a family as we are trying to raise our boys to be responsible men but if you are a parent that tends to get offended by rules or correction, it's probably not the place for you.  We are also very impressed by and thankful for the moral focus of the school.  Our boys daily speak of concepts like integrity and compassion in their normal everyday conversation.  Many children at this school do this.  It's part of the curriculum, projects etc.  Which leads me to service projects.  We are very fortunate to have our values of being of service and help to others echoed at the school.  There are regular projects, drives, fundraisers etc. with the sole purpose of bettering and helping our community.  These are just a couple of the reasons that we love this school but I saw the other comments and thought I needed to put 2 cents in.  Thanks!

: I am a grandmother  of a past student, a first grader.  If it wasn't for their guidance and support from day one of my grandsons time with them, starting in kindergarten, I do not believe he would be in the place he is today.  His first year they recognized his special needs and immediately set up testing and counselling to pin point how they could best help him there at Reach Academy.  When all their resources were tried and it was evaluated that he needed more than they could offer, they made sure that all was done to properly direct us to his current school,Maple Lane, which he started the first of this year.  There he is successfully continuing his education in an enviroment suited to his needs, but still expresses how he misses the wonderful faculty at Reach.  Even with his issues, they all treated him with compassion and understanding and love.  He talks constently talks about visiting, which we will definitly do soon.

: I am a parent of a former student and I did not like the school. If you are from a really awful school this is the school for you. Because it is a stop up from a bad school. But if you are used to a calm, experienced school this school might be too much for you and your child.
