This is my son't first year at Bradford Academy but so far so good. They care about the kids' education and make sure they are performing up to their potential.

So far I've seen nothing that pleases me about this school, and to include the stucture of existing the parking after school. Is the most rediculous situation that I'd been put in my life.

I feel the same way you cant go in the school to see what your child is doing in class im a open door parent, the teachers dont stay in close communication, the teachers dont help the students when they ask for held the make them figure it out for themselves, which is ok but if they ask come on now. they really do need to work with the kids, and they dont let you know something is wrong til its toooo late you cant walk your child to class I could go on something is wrong with this school

Gladice Peoples: I seem to be disappointed time after time...the kids have potential but don't use it and the teachers don't make it any better. I think they should work with these kids a lot more.

Anonymous: This school is a joke, and they actually have a waiting list. However, the list more than likely consists of parents from the city of Detroit like myself who think they are taking their child to a better school than the ones in Detroit. Nevertheless, the joke is on them, just like it was on me!! Trust me, find a different school for your child to attend. Bradford Academy is a pure joke that the faculty there try and pass off as a so-called privilege to attend. Do not be fooled! If you take your child there after reading this post just remember you have now campaigned for everything Bradford Academy dishes out at you, but you will more than deserve it at that point. I have three children there, and I am now looking for another school! Here is a personal test that you can do to see if what I am saying is true or false. Go to Bradford, ask 10 parents this question. Do you personally think that there is always something crazy coming from staff here at Bradford Academy? Alternatively, just ask, do you feel like there is always something with this school? After that count, the number of negative responses you get, and you'll see what you are about to experience. I will start you off as a parent of children at Bradford Academy. "Yes, There is always something here at Bradford Academy, and it is nerve wrecking! They have parents fooled into believing they are getting something special here, but they themselves will unravel those thoughts for you!!" Now to the parents who attend this school after reading this post, when the day comes, and it's your turn to get a backlash from Bradford, just know that there is a parent saying I told you so while trying to hold back the laughter, b the joke is on you this time! Have a nice day and an even better school year!

I have a daughter that attends Bradford's Academy, and I live in Southfield, MI I feel that the school is getting over-filled, it should be that the Southfield or zip code resident gets open enrollment first, due to we live in the same region area or city. It not fair that Detroit or other city get to come and enroll and then you got Southfield residents & students, needing to enroll. Then the traffic is ugly!!!! Most parent would like to drop their kids off in front of building but you cant get to it, My mother is a 68 year old woman who picks my daughter up and she cant get in the parking lot or a handicap parking spot because people are not be respectable when it come to others. I LOVE BRADFORD SCHOOL, but like all things must be worked out, more staff need to be outside directing traffic and the children to where they need to go.what are they suppose to do when it time to go to a school and cant get in the near zone school cause all the new kids from different cities coming in. Overcrowded I say...

Bradford academy is an ok school in all. I think that we should have more books, different and more lunches, a tennis court, maybe a food court, and more encouragement on the school.

I am a parent of Bradford for 3 years now and yes this school has it's problems. The parking lot is a mess everyday because they only have one way in and out of the school, maybe if the timing off the traffic light was changed it might make a difference. Yes, some of the students are out of control and I would like to see more consequences by administration. Bradford has a good PTA but they need strong support from the parents, I have attended several PTA meetings where the co founder of The Romaine Group attends and listens to the parents but when there is a school of 40 % caring and concerned parents and the other 60% don't care to be active what can you expect! Parents are a big part of the problem because they don't get involved! Just this past school year alone we have had to children get hit by cars (thank God not severe) but it was do to parents not following the law regarding traffic and allowing there children to be let out of the car on Telegraph Road. Don't get me started on the poor attendance by parents for parent teachers conferences (5% attendance), teachers need support from the parents, this school could be so much more if 100's would get off their butts and be active in their childs education!

If your child goes here i fill sorry for them. Parents do not know what goes on inside the school because the teachers never say anything. In the middle school section kids get into lots of fights. The high school kids are around the little kids and still be out side when they got out of school 1 hour ago. They also have horrible lunches they have the same thing every week. The parking is ridiculous it takes you 30min to an hour to get out the parking lot. This school should be ashamed to call its self a school! just please DO NOT send your child here PLEASE! They will thank you later on in life. I thanked my parents too!!!!!!!!!!

Former Teacher: Sadly, I cannot recommend Bradford for parents or for prospective teachers. It is not a safe environment, and they do not equip students with adequate life skills. Discipline issues are off the charts. As a teacher, I spent most of my time dealing with out-of-control kids. The administration (except for one VP) does not support the teachers. Great PTA parents, but they also lack adequate support by administrators. Also experienced a great deal of reverse discrimination there.
