Lake Region Christian School Reviews
We were not happy with this school after having our child attended for two years. The environment does stress high academic catandards and that is wonderful. However, they have not addressed the problems that we face in today's world with bullying and really having the kid's work together on accepting their differences and character. Their view is that at a certain age kids need to handle their own problems. You would think that they would really have a strong character program being a Christian school, but no. They do have chapel and daily bible lessons, but do not have any incentive for the kids to really grow in this area with the faculty guiding them. Our child was bullied on a regular basis and the school didn't want to address the situation even when we gave them ideas on how to do this. They also do not let parents know when their child is having trouble in a certain academicarea. It's up to the parents to see a problem when papers come home and as a parent you see a pattern. Our child is a good student academically, but there were areas that were a bit of a struggle and we would have liked to be notified or have the teacher help during study time - nope! Also, the school environment is not a friendly and warm environment. It is so sad, as we were hoping that this would be the place for our child, because we do not want to send our child to the public school system.
We are new to Lake Region Christian School and couldn't say more good things. We have lived in many different states and I have to totally disagree with the other review from July 13th. I feel that this school is way about academic wise compared to the public school system. They do so much more as well - teaching the child about morals and working together as a group. The atmosphere is calm and loving, such a difference from the public elementary school we were at in Virginia. My daughter LOVES going to school everyday.
Good T/S ration, bible training. Make sure to *thoroughly* interview the administrators and teachers before making the decision to enroll. Watch for reading and math skills developing below standard.
