Davids Christian Learning Center

Kelly: Our 9 month old daughter has attended David's Christen Learning Center (DCLC) since she was 4 months old.  As a first time parent, I was extremely nervous about choosing the right place for my daughter.  On her first day I could hear her laughing and playing with her new teacher when I picked her up.  I knew at that moment we found the right fit.  

She loves all new friends and has learned so many things from the fabulous staff.   They go out of their way to make parents feel at ease and work hard to create a family atmosphere.  The staff also organizes many events throughout the year for families to attend and meet each other including a father’s day barbeque - a huge benfit for parents looking to expand their social circle and meet other parents.  

The kids create all kinds of fun art projects – we even got a special mother’s and father’s day art project with our daughter’s picture and a very special poem.  It brought tears to my eyes and will be something I keep forever.  

I appreciate that the staff know my daughter’s routine and what’s normal and what's not.  I appreciate that they take time at the end of the day to personally check in with each parent on the day’s events and share funny stories and concerns specific to each child.  It is apparent that the staff love the children as though they were their own kids.

Another benefit is that DCLC is small and child and Christ centered.  All the kids and staff know my daughter, not just the staff.  When we drop and pick her up all the kids and staff personally say hello/goodbye to her...and they all know who my husband and I are too.  

The staff incorporate bible stories into the kids activities.  I think this is a great opportunity to teach kids the principles of being a Christen and set the stage for positive learning experiences.  

DCLC is great - our daughter loves going.  I highly recommended it to anyone looking for a small daycare center with care personalized for each child and firendly, attentive staff.

Davids Christian Learning Center is an excellent place for children of all ages. They offer so many fun activities and the staff truly cares for each child. We are blessed to have this child care option in our neighborhood.

David's Christian Learning Center is an amazing daycare and preschool. My children have been attending the program there for over 4 years. The staff are all excellent and care very much about the children and families. When my son tested for kindergarten he did exceptionally well. This is due in part to the learning experience at DCLC. One of the preschool teachers is bilingual, so my son is learning Spanish. My baby is learning sign language. I am in awe of what they are learning. The facility includes a full-sized gym and fenced playground. The gym is awesome during long winters, to help burn energy. The building is secure. There is a sense of community and the parent's are very involved with the center. Parent's get to know each other and friendships are plentiful. I would highly recommend this daycare to the most picky of people. Also, the center is located inside St. Matthew's Lutheran Church. Some parts of the building are older so don't judge a book by it's cover. You will not find a place like this anywhere in NE Minneapolis/Columbia Heights. DCLC is open to all children (not just Lutherans).
