First-Thanks GCMS for all you did to educate my sons!
Gulfport is a great place to work and learn! As one of three original Excellence For All pilot districts, we have lead the way in Common Core implementation in the state. Out-of-state parents have lamented about the rigor of our curriculum noting that their children are being challenged to become conceptual learners and critical thinkers. This is also a testament that the district holds everyone to high expectations. As a parent, Gulfport School District (GSD) was and is an easy choice. Thanks to the teachers counselors, and administration, two of my sons earned about $60,000.00 in academic, leadership, and band scholarships. The third and youngest son has requested to stay because he loves the school, its robotics program, and band. What more could a parent expect? I recommend GSD as THE education destination on the Gulf Coast.

Gulfport Central Middle School is awesome. The teachers take the time to think about us, the students, before they make decissions. The administrators, teachers, and staff strive to make the school more exciting. The atheletic department is awesome and the clubs at Central are outstanding. In my opinion, Central is very COPACETIC. As Dr.Battle says every morning,"Average is officially OVER!!"

WendiHusley: A big SHOUT OUT for my Robotics Club AND Engineering Club! What an outstanding group of kids! Our Robotics Club was awarded several prizes this year, including most unique robot and one of our teams went all the way and won first place in competition for our division!
Now the Engineering Club worked with Women Engineers from Ingalls Shipbuilding and we created a scene from the movie ET. The kids had a great time learning some engineering strategies to build our structure. STEM is a wonderful class and offered in the 8th grade at Central Middle!

I have been a resident of Gulfport for 35 years and the Gulfport School District is the only district I would consider for my kids. The District is striving to offer our kids the best education available. Gulfport Central Middle School offers a great environment and education for all students. popel1: This school is located near the Sea Bee base, and many of the military personnel volunteer at the school. The faculty and staff at the school work tirelessly with the students and parents to help the students meet their academic goals. Parents are welcome in the school at all times. This is just a great place to go to school!
