Gulfport High School Reviews
Gulfport is a great place to work and learn! As one of three original Excellence For All pilot districts, we have lead the way in Common Core implementation in the state. Out-of-state parents have lamented about the rigor of our curriculum noting that their children are being challenged to become conceptual learners and critical thinkers. This is also a testament that the district holds everyone to high expectations. As a parent, Gulfport School District (GSD) was and is an easy choice. Thanks to the teachers counselors, and administration, two of my sons earned about $60,000.00 in academic, leadership, and band scholarships. The third and youngest son has requested to stay because he loves the school, its robotics program, and band. What more could a parent expect? I recommend GSD as THE education destination on the Gulf Coast.

I am the parent of both a former graduate and current 9th grade student at Gulfport High. I cannot say enough about this school's teachers and staff. They provide students with a well rounded education in a diverse setting. They did a great job preparing my oldest child for college stressing not only the importance of academics, but also service to the community. I am so excited about the implementation of the Core Curriculum at Gulfpor High. I can already see how it is benefiting my own child after just one year.
I love it over here at Gulfport High School Cafeteria. The employees are nice to me. Food is pretty good over here.
I like serving on the cafeteria line and helping mopping up spills and helping out in the cafeteria. I like making friends here at GHS cafeteria.
I like the idea of coming here daily to help the kids and put a smile on their face to help brighten up their day. Sometimes the kids may just need a smile.
What I like best about my job is working with our staff and I like working and being around the kids and I like my scheduled hours of work.

OUTSTANDING educational experience for students! The staff truly care about every student and the quality of their education. They are teaching my child about real world experiences as well as giving a strong academic foundation. I live out of district and choose to send my child to GHS! I believe no other school in MS can meet the quality and variety programs : academics, arts, sports ,vocational and extracurricular, than those in place at GHS.
The Gulfport School District has a dedicated staff of teachers, counselors, administrators, and support staff who really care about the students, and are constantly striving to offer the greatest possible learning environment to ensure the kids have the best opportunity to succeed, in school and life.
My three children graduated from Gulfport High School and they were well-prepared for college! I truly appreciated all that the teachers and administrators did to allow them the best possible high school experience. Through academics, sports, and the arts my children were given the opportunity to grow into well-rounded adults. THANKS GHS!
Gulfport High School is the best high school in Mississippi! The teachers, administrators, and coaches really go above and beyond in working with the students of Gulfport. Thier level of concern for the education and well being of the student is top notch. I have two students who attend GHS and they have so many opportunities in the area of sports, arts, music, and clubs that they would not have at most schools in MS. At the same time they are receiving a strong academic education that will fully prepare them for college. The Common Core Curriculum has stepped up the learning rigor at GHS which will improve their success not just in college but in the real world. Their academy model also has made learning more relevant to my students' interest. My children love coming home and telling me about their day and how much they learn. To hear their level of excitment about learning and how they are pushed to higher standards is truly amazing. I could not be more proud of the direction GHS is going and taking my children. Thank you Gulfport High School. Go Admirals!!

My son attended GHS and is now a critical care nurse. He received a top-notch education at GHS with exceptional teachers. These teachers come early and stay late, think outside the box, and do what is necessary to help the children of today prepare to be the employees of tomorrow. Thank you teachers of GSD for your devotion not just to my child, but to the children of tommorrow!

Gulfport High School is an excellent school offering a diverse curriculum. Students are encouraged to explore various avenues of education, including traditional and non-traditional programs. Dropout prevention is stressed and teachers and counselors make every effort to help students find a program that is right for them.
Gulfport High School has an excellent drop out prevention program. It addresses the needs of students that are seeking an alternative to traditional school.
