Pass Road Elementary School Reviews
Gulfport is a great place to work and learn! As one of three original Excellence For All pilot districts, we have lead the way in Common Core implementation in the state. Out-of-state parents have lamented about the rigor of our curriculum noting that their children are being challenged to become conceptual learners and critical thinkers. This is also a testament that the district holds everyone to high expectations. As a parent, Gulfport School District (GSD) was and is an easy choice. Thanks to the teachers counselors, and administration, two of my sons earned about $60,000.00 in academic, leadership, and band scholarships. The third and youngest son has requested to stay because he loves the school, its robotics program, and band. What more could a parent expect? I recommend GSD as THE education destination on the Gulf Coast.

Pass Road Elementary School is awesome! At this school everyone believes that all people can learn but at different rates and in different ways. They offer a wide variety of programs that make sure every child has every opportunity to be successful in life. The teachers and staff go way above and beyond all the time. They treat each child like he or she is their very own and always make sure they are available. They go to school early and stay late all the time because they want the children to be the very best they can be. The close-knit family atmosphere is very comforting to students, parents, and staff. (It "feels" like home.) Pass Road makes sure that everyone who walks through the door knows they have value and worth.
I am a volunteer mentor at Pass Road Elementary. The school offers a BOOST program to help students that need additional mentoring in their school work. There is one volunteer mentor per student, and the improvements can be seen throughout the year. The students are very appreciative of their mentors.
This is an outstanding school! They are focused on meeting the Common Core Initiatives. The staff at the school works hard to insure all of the children get a quality education. When I visit this school the children are having fun, engaged in learning, and working hard.
Pass Road Elementary School is a great example of how everyone school should operate to make sure each student has success. Every employee is concerned about each student simply by saying good morning. We all care about each other. I am lucky to be a part of this school. Sheila Harris
Pass Road Elementary is a glowing example of how a elementary school should operate. The staff works as a team with sincere care for each student. Example, when one of the custodians, stops and kneels down to have a conversation with a student about how they are doing, and listens with concern, that's what it is all about. Care!
Pass Road Elemetary is a very nice school to be employed at becuase the staff is great, the principal is extroidinary and special and all has the kids in mind first.
Pass Road is a school where everyone works together and treats each other like family.
PRE is a great school with a faculty and staff who truly care for children. They believe that all children can learn and work diligently to bring students to their full potential.
Mr. Hudson is very compassionate, understanding, a good listener and a good person.
Pass road is an awesome school. I chose to put my god son into Pass Road knowing that they would get him where he needs to be. Also the departments and teachers are awesome and willing to work with you to get the what your child needs to get, in order to be where they need to be for that specific grade. They also have a great reading program.
I really like the way Mr. Hudson interacts with the children.
I think Pass Road Elementary is a school is a very good school.
This is a school with a BIG heart!! Students not only succeed academically, but socially as well. Parents are welcomed with open arms. Way to go GSD!!
Wonderful school! The staff works together with parents to meet the needs of their students. Excellent at encouraging parental involvement.
I choose to bring my son to the Gulfport School District to attend PRE. He loves his teachers. The classes are structured by ability for each grade level, therefore, allowing students to grow and learn at their level instead of in a homogeneous environment. The staff is happy to be at work and they believe everyone with the school staff educates the students (adminstrators, teachers, teacher assistants, cafe workers, costodian staff, etc.)
My daughter attended PRE for Kindergarten and the 2nd half of 1st grade (military moved us away for a bit). She/we love PRE. Everyday was a joy for her to go to school. And every day she came home excited to tell me what she learned. In Kindergarten she was part of the group that became the K-1 class the following year. I was completely impressed that since she needed more of a challenge in a subject - that is what she was given. When we moved for the 1st half of 1st grade I realized just how wonderful the Gulfport School District is and how much we wanted to be back. The other school didn't challenger her - only told me that she would get distracted and talked to her friends too much. Thankfully we have not had that problem in the GSD because they are committed to challenging their students to the highest level!
PRE is an amazing school that is full of dedicated faculty. Because of this every student thrives.
