Twenty Eighth St Elementary School Reviews
This is a great school! We absolutely love our students and parents. We enjoy every precious day that we have with our students.
Working at 28th Street Elementary is a rewarding, satisfying job which I absolutely love. All the students know how much the teachers love them and want what is best for them. The whole faculty and staff work very hard at ensuring the students are getting fun, engaging lessons that promote a love of learning. Our students are growing in reading, writing, and math. They are accepting the challenges we present to them with a positive attitude and are not afraid to try. I am so proud of all the students at 28th Street Elementary! The Buccaneers are Anchored in Excellence!
Gulfport is a great place to work and learn! As one of three original Excellence For All pilot districts, we have lead the way in Common Core implementation in the state. Out-of-state parents have lamented about the rigor of our curriculum noting that their children are being challenged to become conceptual learners and critical thinkers. This is also a testament that the district holds everyone to high expectations. As a parent, Gulfport School District (GSD) was and is an easy choice. Thanks to the teachers counselors, and administration, two of my sons earned about $60,000.00 in academic, leadership, and band scholarships. The third and youngest son has requested to stay because he loves the school, its robotics program, and band. What more could a parent expect? I recommend GSD as THE education destination on the Gulf Coast.

I wouldn't want to teach anywhere else. We are blessed to have a committed staff who strive for excellence and support the mission of the Gulfport School District. We work together as a team to meet the needs of all children by challenging them to a rigorous and engaging curriculum as expected from all of our schools in the Gulfport School District. We are driven by strong leadership from the district and school level and base all decisions on "What's best for Children!" We offer many opportunities for children to soar. We are pleased to offer a strings program, robotics for 5th Grade, health and fitness clubs, Student Council, DAWG Tag Club (Diligently Achieveing Worthwhile Goals), National Honor Society, Gifted Program, and much more.
As a part of the staff, I can state that we have a very supportive staff. Children are supported emotionally as well as academically.
My child loves to read. We spend each night reviewing sight words and enjoying great stories. I am so thankful for all the teachers and administrators at TSE!
Love this school, it is outstanding! They are focused on reading and meeting the Common Core Initiatives. The staff at the school works hard to insure all of the children get a quality education. When I visit this school the children are having fun, engaged in learning, and working hard.

I am a staff member at 28th street elementary school. I love eating lunch here because the food is great.
I enjoy working for the Gulfport Schools District in the child nutrition dept, and my granddaughter is in the school system. She enjoys going to school here and she eats our cafeteria food which is nutricious. Alot of my family work here and they all eat in the cafeteria.
I'm a parent and a staff member and my grandchild enjoys her teachers and learning here at 28th Street Elementary School. She would never want to go to another school. And she loves the food.
The children at 28th street get a nutricious meal and its a five star rating because we have excellent cooks.
Fantastic school! All employees are very dedicated to the students, working very hard to what is best for children. The Child Nutrition Department meets or exceeds all the USDA requirements for healthy school lunchs.
This school, located near the SeaBee base facility, is the newest school in the district, and is beautiful! The faculty and administration work tirelessly to help students achieve their curriculum goals, including parents in decisions regarding the students' educational future. Parents are also encouraged to participate in many other aspects of the students' daily activities.
All of the schools in the Gulfport School District go above and beyond - 28th St Elem is no different.
