Petal Elementary School

We're a military family & before moving to MS, I heard a lot of negative things. Fortunately, those people were wrong. Petal is a great community to raise a family & has an excellent school district;its a Star School District. Almost every store that I shop at  in Petal has a sticker in the window that says we support the Petal Panthers.  The Petal Youth Sports program has better uniforms, equipment, parks & are more organized than many high school programs. Petal has  a new YMCA/Park/Skate Park. Most of the people aren't financially struggling. The homes are 150,000 & up. The fundaraisers(Relay for Life) that the school does are great. I believe it teachers the children about giving & helping others. At Petal Schools the kids aren't fighting ang being disrespectful to teachers, so time is spent on learning and not discipling. If I need to speak to Administrator, I can immediately or the Adminstrator responds in a timely manner. I wish there was a little more diversity in Petal schools but overall, Petal has an awesome school system.

This is a wonderful school, acedimic wise.  People that are financially struggling or on the lower end of finances will find it hard to allow their children to go there as there are always moneys raised for the cancer society and all these programs where they are asking for money.  I think that it is rediculous that a parent recieves a letter every week asking for money something not related to their education.  other than that, it is a good school.
