Central Visual/Perf. Arts High School Reviews

I am a graduate of this school and have lots of fond memories of it. This school was a relative outlet for me and shaped me into the artist I am today.

Central High School was average. While I went there, there were funding issues, which severely impacted the students' ability to do anything in their art. There aren't enough instruments in a lot of classes. The students aren't challenged enough in the regular classes. While it was very slowly getting better, something should be done. Many students in the school simply do not deserve to be there, as they flunk their arts and never show up. Those spots could be used for someone who truly wants an education in their art.

I think its is a shame that you guys are changing this school to a charter school. I think since it seems to be the only performing arts high schoo,l it should be left alone. Have you ever thought performing arts is the only reason why some kids are still attending school? This school has helped some kids stay out of jail and off the street. Please rethink.
