Turning Winds Academic Institute
Mother-WA: When Connor was home we ran into a friend of Connor's that was "blazed" walking the halls of the high school. I called up his dad - as our boys used to play baseball together and they were in local out-patient rehab together - to tip him off that his son has high at 11:00 am on a Monday morning at school - we had a long talk about Turning Winds Academic Institute and they are considering it as a possibility. Also Connor had an appointment with his pediatrician when he was home and she was so impressed that she is going to start recommending TWAI to her troubled teen patients. And our local high school principal bear-hugged Connor and asked us to send info on TWAI to him as he was amazed at Connor's transformation. Oh and lastly . . the school police officer saw Connor at school and was so impressed he was hugging Connor and started looking for his daughter to say hi at lunch - he wants Connor to date his daughter (they always liked each other and the officer was like, “you will date over my dead body!†during the drug version of Connor!) So that was an amazing thing for Connor to feel so embraced by people that had previously thought he was simply troubled.
Thank you to Turning Winds Academic Institute! You saved our child's life.

Turning Winds Academic Institute
taslima-mt: ” Turning Winds Academic Institute” is one of the top private boarding schools in the industry. We offer a structured alternative school environment where troubled teens can grow and learn to make the changes necessary for a successful life. We feel this is a better alternative to military boarding schools or boot camps because the environment is such that the teen is able to learn to make correct choices in a healthy and positive way. Military schools or boot camps often will use more negative and demeaning approaches to force submission and obedience. Consequently, what develops is resentment, which does not produce real change, but simply a temporary compliance. That is why most parenting advice says to avoid this approach. Our specialty boarding school utilizes the outdoor components of a summer camp or a wilderness program allowing each teen to benefit from the therapeutic atmosphere of the outdoors.

Turning Winds Academic Institute amazed me! And I am a difficult person to impress. My daughter had been struggling immensley with self harm and the psych hospital visits were getting to be too much, occurring almost monthly for about five months. Amanda had given up on her schooling and stopped taking care of herself. It almost seemed as though the life had been sucked out of her. She left the school about eight months and is doing phenomenal as she is enrolled in the University of Colorado. Turning Winds Academic Institute gave life back to my best girl. I would do it again if I had to. The leadership at the school is great!

Best decision I have ever made. My son is in college now and doing well. That is not to say he does not have his days, but I do not worry about how he is living his life anymore because he no longer associates with his past friends. He turned his life to Christ and has a strong support group.
Thank You! Thank You!

Gayle: My daughter has been at Turning Winds for 3 months now, the first thing I noticed was her change in attitude and her appreciation for everything in general. She loves the mountain hiking and the beautiful scenery in Montana. She has been hiking and camping on the river several times already. She loves being in the tranquil environment and close to nature. She tells me she is on a journey to self-discovery and is in the best possible place to do so. She is continuing to develop new skills to deal with whatever life happens to throw her down the road. I am very thankful to the dedicated and loving staff at Turning Winds.
