About the STARS
What is it?
The School-Based Teacher-Led Assessment and Reporting System (STARS) are annual tests used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Students are assessed in writing in grades 4, 8, and 11.
How is it Scored?
Students are scored at four levels: beginning, progressing, proficient and advanced. The goal is for students to score at or above the proficient level.
