Jacks Valley Elementary School
Sunni Heinrichs: My son has gone to this school for three years and had the best time of his lifel. My son was an honor student and was always pushed to his limit in accademics. The staff gives and requires respect from all students. Besides having the most kid freindly teachers, principal, and counselor, Jacks Valley has so much more to offer. It has the best technology in all Norther Nevada Schools (thanks to the huge donation from "Big George Adventure." The counselor has two bullying programs: Safe School Ambassadors ( for 4th-6th graders) and Bully Blockers (for the Kindergarten thru 3 graders.) It also helps that they have very good yard duty women. JVES has a running school program where the whole school gets together and runs about 8 times a year. I can't say enough about the principal. Mrs. Gilmartin can take bitter lemons from what is thrown at her and makes sweet ice cold lemonade. Yes, we are on the watch list, but if you see where we tested low, you will understand why. The teachers have gone above the call of duty to get test scores up. I feel the test scores are low because of lack of parents involvement in there childs education and the teachers hands are tied. We will miss this school very much.
