DarwinSweet: I think Bob Miller Middle School is a Top-Notch school!! I have had three children attend Bob Miller and all three have come away with a love for learning. All of my students had Mr. Ekker and he was all three of my children's favorite teacher. He seems to understand children and fights for them to progress and learn each day. Not only does he motivate and engage students in the classroom, he takes time out of his own busy schedule and takes the students to Europe. GOD BLESS HIM. He really reaches students and helps them reach their potential. Thanks to him my children want to keep studying Spanish and try to pass the AP test in high school.

Leslie Scott: I am a substitute teacher and I've worked in about 1/2 of the middle schools in Clark County. Bob Miller is one of the best if not the best middle school in the district. I have 2 children who have both attended there. Most of the teachers do a fantastic job. It's a great area to live.

i am new to the school and im a 8th grader that goes there and i just want to say its awful absoulty the worst ive ever been to teachers are horrible the students are rude, and this talk about bullying is 100% accurate and all of the staff and adminastration are super unhelpful i dont care what any "parent" says they havent expericent it like i have, and another thing is the ciriculum has very low standers i DONT RECCOMND THIS SCHOOL FOR ANYONE Ps. sorry for misspellings

Not pleased. My daughter is very bored with the advanced classes, strictly lecture and worksheets. Not the best teaching method for gifted students. She says its okay school and she has not been bullied or treated badly, but there have been incidents of stealing from lockers, pushing of new students, others being bullied, etc.. that she has told me and her father about. 6th graders mostly. We are keeping close tabs on what the kids are saying.
The office is very unfriendly, they are not helpful and treat parents poorly. You have to interact with student workers who are nice and sweet, but not very informed. I can't speak to teachers directly - always funneled to the cadre of "deans." Administration is very poor at giving parents information. They feel if they tell a student, it's communicated. Not so.
The website is a joke, not updated with current information (test schedules, parent-teacher conferences, etc) They only post sports or social events on the main online calendar. Very vague on CCSD info, very difficult to navigate if searching for information. The ParentLink is better now, but was really awful for awhile. Just a place to post grades...not much info there. Trimester repor cards are just a copied piece of paper with a letter grade and a sticker, smiley face or a "good job" jotted down. That's all. Again, not very informative.
Academics are said to be good, but my husband and I are not impressed. The whole office attitude is "drop off your kid and forget about them; don't ask us anything and don't interfere with what we do." New principal started after school year started.........let's see if the culture regarding parents improves.

My daughters 1st yr and shes adapted well to Henderson and Bob Miller school she doesnt want to go anywhere else.. Shes always happy to be going.. She told me as well they had some kind of Bullying meeting since shes been there and 1day everyone wore a be kind shirt.. My daughter does not bully and has not spoken of anyone who does. So happy with decision. :)

I am absolutely amazed that there are parents out there that actually think that Bob Miller does nothing about Bullying! Miller happens to be one of the best middle schools in the district and to see things posted like this make me sick to my stomach. I have witnessed what is done to these "bullies" and many of the time after, spending hours on investigations, the administration finds out that it is actually YOUR kid that is doing the bullying. REMEMBER - WHEN YOUR KID LEAVES YOU HOME TO GO TO SCHOOL HE OR SHE BECOMES A DIFFERENT PERSON! To those parents and students who feel that bullying is not being taken care of at Miller.......go to another school and see what happens there! The grass is defintely not greener! A note to the principal...these students leave and want to come back when they realize what they left.....don't let them back in and then blame the not only the kid but also the parent that obviously has blinders on!!!!!! Keep it up Miller....my daughter is on her way and I can't wait for her to experience this school! Good luck Ms. Mai and ull nvr kno....I wish your children the best!

THESE COMMENTS ABOUT BULLYING ARE ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS! I KNOW FOR A FACT THAT THE ADMINISTRATION DOES EVERYTHING THEY CAN TO MAKE AWARE TO PARENTS AND STUDENTS THAT BULLYING IS UNACCEPTABLE! MAYBE THE PARENTS SHOULD TAKE A LOOK AT THEIR CHILD TO SEE IF THEY ARE THE ACTUAL BULLY! MY CHILD WAS "BULLIED" AND WHEN THE DEANS' OFFICE WAS TOLD ABOUT IT (THIS DOESN'T HAPPEN OFTEN.....YOUR CHILD MAY NOT BE TELLING ANYONE THEY ARE BEING BULLIED) THE DEANS AT THIS SCHOOL DO WHATEVER POSSIBLE TO SOLVE THE PROBLEM. ADVICE TO THOSE PARENTS COMPAINING ABOUT BULLYING AT MILLER....TRY ANOTHER SCHOOL AND THEN YOU CAN BEGIN COMPLAINING ABOUT MILLER NOT CARING ABOUT YOUR CHILD!

The curriculum was terrible for bright students, the teachers were average, but some were awful. There was SO much bullying and slamming lockers on fingers and stuff that I hated it.
