I'm sorry that Harley feels resentment towards our headmaster and the high school program. We recieved accreditation just in time for me to come back to AHA. I attended this wonderful school from 3rd thru 8th grade. I have nothing but respect for mrs Beckstead and for the teachers and parents at the school. There is a real sense of community there that is hard to find in any academic environment. I feel fortunate to be back at AHA and I look forward to finishing out my high school credits there.

AHA is an amazing school! The headmaster, teachers and staff are respectful of the scholars educational needs and want to see each child succeed. AHA is accredited through the Northwest Accreditation Association.
Respect, leadership, faith and a love of learning is taught daily to the scholars. These foundations are all based on the teaching of Christ, elevating the type of learning and the material presented to the scholars.
The scholars feel safe within the walls of the school because they know they are loved and cared for by teachers and administrators who want the best for them at all times. They understand that the high standards set for them by teachers and family come from a place of love and concern. My own children have excelled at AHA because of the love they are shown daily. Our children will continue to enjoy school because they know the teachers and staff members always will lead them in truth and continue to love them through the years they are together and into their futures.

I am a parent of two kids that attend AHA and I have spent many hours volunteering at the school. My oldest child started in preschool at AHA and is now in 6th grade. We love it at AHA and due to the amount of time spent helping out there, I've seen the changes that have taken place and believe all of them are for the better. The school continues to grow in ways to better serve the kids. I am very close to the school and have been privileged to know and see many of the inner workings throughout the years on different levels, due to continued volunteering that I do at and for the school. With my love of the school, it is ironic to me that a former student would get on and write a bad review to hurt the school as #1, she just saw the kids that got straight A's at a straight A luncheon and she not only went and socialized with them but also gave a big hug to the headmaster and exclaimed her desire to return to the school (it's great when parent chaperons are present to keep everyone honest, huh) and #2, that former teachers (posting as parents because they too had children there) will get on here to make false claims (though they may not know they are false) and to complain about the leadership because of personal reasons. The school has always had a board of trustees and still does now. The present board is a "silent" board that does not have near the involvement of previous boards, which seems to allow the school to grow more efficiently for the scholars. My kids have only gone here, though I've looked into other private schools and the public school system just to see what they are about and have come to the conclusion that my kids will always be a part of AHA. The biblical aspect, the small class sizes, the pushing my kids to succeed, and the core values of AHA will make me keep my kids here and get the excellent foundation for future schooling and life that I continually strive to instill in them.

We have recently returned back to AHA after having to leave Las Vegas for awhile. While away, we placed our children in public schools and they voiced many times how unhappy they were in school and how bored they were. I knew they were not being challenged. They even asked that I buy the curriculum that American Heritage uses and home school them. My children are again telling me that they are happy and that they love school.The headmaster and the teachers all love the school and have a goal and passion for education.

Jennifer Flinders: To clarify past comments, please note that the American Heritage Academy has accreditation with Northwest Accreditation Commission and is recognized by schools for exceeding standards considered essential for quality education. 2011-2012 is our 6th year at AHA, and I am one f those parents who are very involved, I have noticed MANY changes at the school that in my opinion have been for the betterment of the scholars, the school IS a Non-Profit business and therefore it requires that a board of trustees be in place, I KNOW that all the staff is competent, well educated and qualified for the positions the hold, they are all there because they WANT to, not because they "have to", my children LOVE AHA, the are very close to staff especially to the Headmaster, she has ALWAYS been very loving towards children, the parent involvement at AHA is amazing, we keep our children there because we see how our children respond to the loving staff and LEADERSHIP.

American Heritage has gone down hill in my family's opinion. The reason is the leadership has faltered. It used to be run by by a board of trustees with administration and parents who were very involved. There is no longer a board of trustees despite what the school handbook claims, and the leadership has been unprofessional.

My daughter just completed her first year of Kindergarten and we loved it! The teachers are wonderful and helpful. We were worried that she wouldn't be challenged, but the school has exceeded all our expectations!
