Mark Wheatley: August 31, 2011.....I was shocked to learn the school will now serve lunch ONLY when classes are over for the day. That's right, kids check into classes at 7:30 am and have classes through 1:30 pm (6 hours, no lunch) and then are 'allowed' in the cafateria for lunch AFTER 1:30. Buses arrive at 2:30. Do they think kids will hang around in the cafateria waiting for a bus? Also, how can hungry kids learn? Why was this done? Was lunch moved to when classes were over so that the lunch program could reduce the number of workers employed because so few kids stay past the end of classes to eat? This is not the last email on this subject. I'd like to hear from parents and kids about what they think. 6 hours, no lunch? How are the kids suppossed to learn I ask?

Chap is a strong school in my community. My son attends Chap as a junior this year. They give the extra help to the kids who need it and that means a lot to me as a parent. My son has grown as a person, thanks to the Cowboy Pride. Keep doing a great job Chap!
