About the NAWE
What is it?
The Nevada Analytic Writing Examination (NAWE) is an annual test used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Students are assessed in writing in grades 5 and 8.
How is it Scored?
Students are scored at four levels: emergent/developing, approaches standard, meets standard or exceeds standard. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.
About the CRT

The Criterion-Referenced Test (CRT) are annual tests used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Students are assessed in reading and math in grades 3 through 8.
How is it Scored?
Students are scored at four levels: emergent/developing, approaches standard, meets standard, or exceeds standard. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.
About the HSPE
What is it?
The High School Proficiency Examination (HSPE) are annual tests used to measure a student's mastery of the state's grade-level academic standards.
Which Grades and Subjects?
Students are assessed in reading, math and writing in grade 10. Students can retake the test in grade 11 if they do not pass in grade 10.
How is it Scored?
Students are scored at four levels: emergent/developing, approaches standard, meets standard, or exceeds standard. The goal is for all students to score at or above the proficient level.
