D'Vorre & Hall Ober Elementary School

karen: great school, great staff, excellent environment for kids. my two boys, 8 and 9 love going to school  from  day one.  love everything about this school.  thanks to principal!

I have a 5th grader who goes to Ober. I love the school location and my son's teacher Ms. Epstein. My other 2 girls go to Ober too, and I also love their teachers. But my son is bullied repetitively for over a year now. The school has been notified of this problem several times. The first incident was in Feb. 2011, the 2nd was in Oct. 2011, and the last time was just 2 days ago, Jan. 17, 2012. The bully is my son's classmate. My son has endured physical, verbal and emotional abuse. This has great effects on my son. He is emotionally tormented, physically abused, humiliated, and embarrassed. He's been called, GAY, slapped on the face, his arm twisted, a sharp object stabbed on his rear-end. All these incidents have been documented as I have written letters to Ober. Yesterday, after I have notified the school office of the last bullying-incident that happened on Jan. 17, the school office suggested they transfer my son to another classroom so he will be away from the bully. This completely upset me. Why would my son be the one to be transferred to another classroom and not the bully? How will that make my son feel? That after he is abused, he now has to be punished? He is the victim and yet he is the one to suffer the change of a new class environment, get use to new classmates, new desk, and new teacher? This upsets me as a mother. The repetitive abuse on my child has caused us so much.  This is now affecting my child’s education and well-being.

Great school!  Love the teachers.  I have 3 kids: 10, 8 and 7.  They all go to Ober.

Jennifer: Ober is an excellent school.  I have 4 children attending this coming school year 2011-2012.  I am excited and my 4 children are excited to go back to school.  The teachers are wonderful and knowledgable in what they do.  I keep contact with my childrens teachers through email or directly.  I will have two daughters who will be in 4th grade, my son will be in 3rd grade and my second to youngest will be in 1st grade! The office staff is wonderful and friendly. Thank you Ober Elementary!

Mimi & Joe: Ober is one of the best schools that you can go to in Las Vegas! I recommend this school for anyone wanting to move to Las Vegas and wanting their child to have an outstanding foundation. The teachers are wonderful, the office staff is outstanding and everyone there is nice. The parents are also very involved! We would like to thank Ober for everything they have done for my children. Thank you all teachers for for your support and care!

I can't wait for all the upcoming things. I am very involved parent.And want the very best for our girls.. Principle is so nice, lunch ladies great, crossing guard is so nice to volinteer her time.Office staff everyone Awsome..

Smith: The teachers are great!!!!  My children have been attending this school for 5 years and we absolutely enjoy it.  The only complaint I have is the staff constantly telling the students the school is broke and they have to cut back.  I don't think expressing this to children is necessary, keep the financials to yourself the kids have enough to worry about!

I think this school is great. the teachers are great with the students. there is alot of activities they give the kids projects every month all the other schools my daughter attended never gave her any projects she absolutley loves her school and im planning to let her finish her elementary there
