Hyde Park Middle SchoolI don't know why the parent that posted on December 30, 2010 says Hyde Park is so bad. Out of the 5 schools I have gone to, I honestly say Hyde Park is the best.

5It's a wonderful school. I am currently in 8th grade and it's awesome. The teachers and staff are kind and helpful. The math and science advanced classes are great; they challenge you to work hard and persevere. The students are very nice too, and we have all sorts of after school clubs and teams to join. The electives are great and the school pays an equal amount of attention to the preforming arts as they do to math an science, so if you love art or music, don't feel left out! I highly recommend this school if you are looking for a magnet program.

5I love this school! i am currently in 8th grade in the magnet program and have been going there since 6th grade. The teachers really do care and help you if you are having problems. They make you feel confident about school work and they make it fun. I am in piano class and it's great! All music classes, orchestra, choir, guitar, piano, band, have really great teachers and push you to your best. I feel really safe when I go there and though it's magnet for math and science they really do push you in other subjects like english, history, geography ect. Plus they have a lot of electives you can choose from, including spanish, art, student aid, robotics et.

5Better than any other Middle School in the Las Vegas Area. The teachers and staff prepare you for High School, and there are availible courses above Grade Level.

Hyde Park Middle SchoolMuch publicity is given to the Hyde Park magnet program. I don't find the level of most of the magnet school students better than what it should be. Some magnet school students cannot write one single sentence grammatically correct. Some teachers are very good and some are not even average. Over all impression about the school is bad. Students here are arrogant and unruly. Staff does not seem to care about it.
Don't waste your time here.

Hyde Park Middle SchoolThe school's magnet program provides challenging courses for students who qualify and are accepted. The teachers are motivated and push the children hard with homework, projects and tests. The program is a success because of the quality of the students, teachers and unwavering support of the parents. Parents tutor, help with the projects, hire tutors and generally do whatever it takes to help their children succeed. What is remarkable is even those students who don't get much support from their parents still manage to get B's despite the difficulty of the subjects. It is a pity the school district cannot upgrade the facilities, the school is overcrowded and old. Frankly I do not think a new school will ever get built considering the severe budget problems of the state.

5This school is incredible. The amount of dedication the staff/student body has to offer is amazing. This school provides a lot of learning opportunities as well. Recently, we took a trip to Disneyland for the Y.E.S Educational Tour (Physics in the Park). It was a three hour tour and we learned an extraordinary amount the time given. The music department is incredible as well. If you are planning on going to Hyde Park, make sure you are ready for a lot of work. This school is amazing!

5I attended a regular middle school for the 6th grade, and was bored miserable. Then I turned to Hyde Park's "Magnet Program", extra focus on higher level thinking, especially in the areas of Science and Mathematics. The teachers are dedicated, very hard on the students, but there to support. Along with the great teachers is a passionate student body, with more focus than I have ever seen before. For example, their music department is humongous, and inter-nationally award winning(especially the orchestra program under the respected Mr. Jeremy Woolstenhulme). If you are a VERY hard worker, and intelligent, this school is for you. Slackers don't survive well in the magnet program.

Hyde Park Middle SchoolI am currently attending Hyde Park. The students I am in class with are highly motivated, try their best, and the teachers have a passion to teach. I will be going into Geometry with Romo/Hill as an eighth grader, however last year I took Alg. 1 Honors. I have never been so challenged in all my life and I can definitely say it was an amazing experience.

4This school has extremely high goals especially if you are in the magnet program. But this school is extremely old and I wished we had a swimming pool or something. The learning and education is like 8 th grade lvl if you are in 6th grade.
