Marc Kahre Elementary School Reviews
My daughter will be attending this school, since we purchased our home in this particular school zone. I am a little worried due to all the reviews I have read in various sights complaining about bullying. Since she's an only child, we have taught her the signs of being bullied and mistreated. My question to these parents is "What kind of action are you taking on behalf of your child with these bullies?" I understand that the staff is not doing their part, but as your child's parents, caretaker and protector; it's our responsibility to speak for them when they are not being heard or this case ignored. I will be damned before my daughter endures this type of treatment, even if I have to get the school board or have to bring the police in this matter I will. Research and learn about how YOU can stop this, every case can be the exception and that can set the foundation for better and stronger laws/rules for bullying in this school and CCSD.
I've also had concerns about student behavior at this school recently. My children tell me stories of bullying on a constant basis and how nothing is done when they tell an adult. While I'm pleased with the curriculum and education my children have received, I wish they felt better about going to school. I think there needs to be assemblies addressing behavior expecations a better way to track and address the disruptive and down right rude children. There seems to be no accountability here. I also think there should be a way that students can anonymously report when they have problems at school and adminstration needs to follow up on these reports. This school year has left my children feeling unvalidated and unimportant.
Poor/no communication with parents, children are not repremanded when bullying occurs , parents aren't brought into the equation such that they may defend there child (the one that is the victim of the bully). Mrs. Plaster was wonderfulwith this, and we as paents had no concerns for safety, now all we have are concerns about safety and the ability to learn due to the escalating problems at this once fine school. Don't send your child here!
