Truly excellent school. Other posters are right that the administration really makes a difference. They really do know all the kids names and really strive to challenge all of them at individualized levels. I had my daughter in private kindergarten and decided to try one year of public at Lummis. Education was better than at the private school, so we kept her there through 5th grade. My daughter had a great time there and we would truly recommend it.

William Lummis Elementary School
Lummis is the best school in Las Vegas. The staff really cares about the students. It's odd to find princepal's and other admin who know the names of all the students at their school. The princepal is so involved in making the students love school. The office staff all care for the kids. The teachers are amazing. The PTA makes sure that the kids have what they need when the school can't afford it. Lummis is tops.
Vegasmama1217: Really like this school. We moved to Vegas from Texas and bought our current house-- just to be in the zone to send our 2 girls to Lummis. There is a huge park between the elementary school Lummis and the Middle school Becker-- so our girls walk. So nice!! People are friendly and we have had some outstanding teachers that have really impacted our daughters. This is really one of the ONLY public elementary schools I would consider sending my kids to in Vegas. Very small neighborhood school.
