Desert Heights Elementary School Reviews

desert heights is an OK schooll. majority of the teachers are amazing except for a select few. and the office staff is just plain RUDE.

Desert Heights is in one of the trashiest areas of Reno. Everytime I drive by there I am afraid of being shot. Whatever you do, do not send your child there unless you want them to pursue careers in prostitution or drugs.

My son has been at Desert Heights for 2 years. Knowing he has ADHD I was honestly quite disappointed in the length of time it took for them to test him. It was already the end of his 2nd year when they finally tested him and found out how very essential it is that he receive extra help and exactly how far behind academically he is. I am also disappointed with the office staff. Whenever I have called they not only do not address themselves before putting you on hold they are quite frankly in my opinion "RUDE" and unfortunately is it just as bad in person as well. I hope they get more professional and friendly staff in that office. I am hoping we have a better year this year and my son gets the help he needs from day one, otherwise I have made the decision that if things are not up to standard within the first month or two at the most I will withdraw my son from this school and put him in a school that will focus on CARING about his academics, emotional well being and his success as much as I as a mother do. This is his 3rd year returning to Desert Heights and I really hope they get it together for the sake of my sons success and his future!
