The principal Mrs Novelli is great and very close to her students, staff and parents. The teachers are AMAZING. A lot of them live near by the school. The program for ASD children is supervised by Ms RICE. She is so good at applying the program accordingly to the children's real needs! This is by far the best Teacher for Autistic children in the whole Washoe County School District. Ms Rice also has excellent help in the class which ensures the program to be successful! My son was truly included in all the different classes with full support of all the teachers and the students as well! The music teacher is also amazing and knows how to adapt to the differences of each kids. Huffaker Elementary is by far the very best you can find in the State of Nevada!
I thank them for everything they have done for both of my kids.

We love this school! I would not even bother with private when you have an amazing public school like Huffaker ... Huffaker is definately one of the best ... I feel so fortunate we are zoned for this school.

Well I am probably the poorest single Mother of one at Huffaker.  The office staff and new fabulous principal (new for the 2010-2011 year) are incredible.  I go in with my "attitude" and that is what I receive in return...smiles and they all want me to help with something.  We came to Huffaker when there was abuse by the teacher at the other school in 3rd grade.  That was 3 years ago.  We have been open to any and all and have been treated with respect.  If you respect, you receive respect.  Yes money is a HUGE factor at Huffaker but so is the right attitude.  Any questions or problems, Mrs Novelli, the principal is right on top of things and she is willing to help and protect YOUR children!!

This is our second year at Huffaker.  As a parent I have always been involved in the school.  Huffaker however does not take to outsiders very well.  Most of the teachers and office staff cater to the wealthier families.  Most things happen by those that have the right street address.  Problems at the school are solved that way as well.  I am very disappointed.  I send notes to school and they are ignored.  I email my child's teacher and it goes unanswered.  My husband and I are not greeted when we go into the classroom.  My child's teacher does not act in a professional manner at times and has made comments that are not appropriate...  I am sad that my kids are zoned for this school and have to put up with the people in charge.  Not a professional environment.

This school does have a small handful of wonderful teachers.
