Mountain View Montessori School Reviews

Mountain View Montessori school has been a wonderful experience for our children and their education. The personal vendetta a parent has with the school should not get in the way of the fact that children here are loved, safe, and getting an excellent Montessori education. MVM is recognized nationally as one of the best Montessori schools in the country. Please make decisions on attending this school based on your personal experience after visiting the school, or call the national office of Association Montessori Internationale and get an unbiased opinion.

I agree with the other posts regarding this school.  The school preaches tolerance of other's individuality, but in reality, the school requires complete conformity.  If you question the administrator's authority in any way, she is completely defensive. Major power trip there.  Why don't they want you to ask your own child what happened in school today?  Why did they stop the state testing of the lower elementary students?  Seems to be a lot of concealment going on here.

Yes, it does boil down to basically encouraging bullying. Conflicts. Between students are handled in a reactive manner instead of proactive to prevent the behavior in the first place. It is a backwards philosophy that does not seem to be working at this school. They need to get new administration in this school if anything is going to change.

It is true that mvm does encourage students to work out there differences among themselves. things are done in a reactive manner rather than proactive when it comes to "bullying" aka working out differences. The education academically is on the lower end of the scale. They do not teach reading and say it will come automatically. My child who was a gifted child before attending mvm was in 3rd grade and reading on a 2nd grade level. Not what you would expect when your child is in private school. We have since switched schools where reading is encouraged and students are held accountable for their work. Seems to be a school for students who may not function well in a normal environment.

Beautiful campus, beautiful education, and the staff, faculty, and administration are competent, compassionate, and the children are learning at a level that surpasses anything we've experienced elsewhere.  I read a review about bullying being "encouraged" and find that to be absurd. No normal person says that! You cannot find a better education in Northern Nevada, and MVM is as near perfect as we could have ever hoped for our kids. Your kids would be better people and well educated by attending this school.

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILD HERE - they support, allow and encourage bullying!!! we had three children in this school for two years after repeated issues with harrassment bullying and out right denial by the staff and head of school in a conversation to kindly take our child out we were completely kicked out of the school.
