Alton Central School (Elementary) Reviews
We moved to Alton five years ago and we love Alton Central School !! Glad we moved here and have nothing but positive things to say about the school admin. and staff.
This school seems to be in the process of finding its sea legs. Principles have come and gone. Trying to find someone to keep up the kids and teachers spirits is a must. This school tries, but has a long way to go, whether it's the teachers or parents everyone needs to take some responsibility and help our students become the best they can be.
There are a few good sincere teachers trying to do their best with a weak administration. Academics are lowered to meet the needs of the low-average student. Expectations and standards are not elevated and students are not duly motivated to be challenged. Major bullying problems and classroom disruptions are not effectively handled by most teachers, nor the administration. The trend the past few years has been parents pulling their children out to home school them or place in another school.
