Gilbert H. Hood Middle School Reviews
Excellent school, excellent staff
As a parent of a child with an intellectual disability, I was unsure what to expect when we came into middle school. My daughter was not reading and was having some behaviors. She transitioned very well to the middle school. We started a new reading program in the middle of her 6th grade year and by the time she moved up to Pinkerton, she was reading at a 2nd grade level. I feel that the administration was wonderful with her. The principal has worked in a program with students like her and knew that it was important to keep the expectations high but not so high she could not achieve them. The staff is phenomenal at wrapping around students to help them achieve their full potential. Middle school is typically the hardest age for the students but my daughter thrived there.
As a parent who's child was assaulted and all they... got is an in-school suspension so far... I think the teachers and staff are useless. My question is where were the teachers and staff?????? if it wasn't for the Derry Police Department I don't think anything would have been done.
