School Mission Statement
Children are and will always be the focus of the New York Avenue School. It is our intent to provide a first class education to every student that passes through our doors. The services we provide to our students will be done without regards to any obstacle that may statistically, historically, socially, or economically deter them from attaining their highest potential as productive citizens. We will serve our community and convince them we are a haven of hope, a center of transformation and an epicenter of change. We will not be content until our school becomes an excellent model of what can occur when like-minded individuals collaborate and embrace each other in harmony and unity; for the benefit of children. We understand we have been given a block of time to affect positive change in one of society’s most precious commodities; our children. We will use this time wisely, gently, strategically and always with the final outcome in view, the success of our students. Our desire is that we will produce some of the finest contributors to society by encouraging, nurturing and empowering them with a rigorous approach to instruction and learning; which will one ay day allow them to pass the torch of success to the next generation
