I believe that all the changes that the school undergoes on a yearly basis is ridiculous.
The Board of Education says that they're trying to prepare students for success when truthfully all they are doing is setting us back and adding more pressure on our academics.
I and many others (Probably every Student in the district) share the same perspective on the way the school runs absences.
It's absurd.
I remember a time when students were allowed to be absent up to 18 times, I know some who managed to make it to 17 and had maintained exceptional academic scores.
Now with the drastic change to 9 its plain obvious why so many students fail.
In my 7 years of learning in Elizabeth I've only met 4 teachers that actually taught because they loved teaching us.
I'm not saying that the rest do it for the paycheck, but it seems as if they do not want to even be there!
Usually their main concern is the "HSPA" they don't even care if we get the lowest passing score! (maybe, maybe not...I'm pretty sure it's the first one though.)
My wish is for the board of education to find a way to allow the students to take participation in deciding what is best for us because It's not you that must go through everything that gets thrown.
It's us.
We have to tackle everything you want us to tackle.
160 credits?
We can't even decide?
if the requirement were 130, I'm pretty sure I would be one to surpass that by let's say, extra 50 credits?
Its incredible that we have to be in school for 8 and 1/2 hours!
Before studying in EHS, school for me was 5 hours and I learned WAY more material than I learn now.
That's sad.
I for one; I know that if I were a parent, EHS would be the LAST place I would enroll my kids.
