Harbor Baptist Academy Reviews
This school is a poor example of what Christian education should be. While they appear to be all that a parent is looking for, in fact they are not. The opportunities for growth are limited and narrow minded- a teacher actually asked my child if they were "stupid". The teachers spend more time talking to each other and on their cell phones than they do actually engaging students in actual learning. The principal is inexperienced and arrogant, relying on name calling and disrespect to communicate with parents. These teachers demean my child by focusing on the laws of HBA than facilitating understanding, I.e. my child is told to sit down and be quiet rather actually spoken to with a caring and teacher-like attitude. My child has received more detentions for nonsensensical reasons than valid ones. These teachers do not even promote questioning as they tell the students to just be quiet. I am highly disappointed in HBA. The sports program is not what the teachers claim it to be. They place all the kids on one team which means all ages are all on the same team. Sadly my child rarely gets play time because the high school students are considered varsity. It is too bad the HBA advertises far more than they actually have/do.
In my opinion, HBA fails on all levels- educational, spiritual, social, athletic.
