Boarding school is not for everyone  - but it has it's advantages.  My daughter has been able to take leadership roles that she may not have pursued in a coed school.  She has been able to focus on her work, and recently scored a 1700 on her SAT.  The Purnell program is challenging, if the student chooses to take advantage of it.  Unlike some other private schools, there are students of differing academic abilities at Purnell  But at Purnell, unlike some other private schools, everyone can get the help they need.
The fact that the school does not tolerate drugs or any other imappropriate behavior is a plus.  I would be more concerned if the school did not suspend girls who behaved badly.

Purnell school has gone down hill, Honestly the classes are way to easy and not academic enough. Personally I enrolled in the school for a better education thinking it was mainstream not once did they mention they where special educational. Think twice before applying here. The girls who attended are not the nicest and majority of the school has gotten in trouble, just in this year over 15 students have been suspended and 3 are not allowed back. The teachers gossip a much as the students. I am a very bright and intelligent girl, since coming to purnell I have not been able to excel. Do not send your daughter to the school you are setting her up for years of depression.
